Using this method, the goal of, for example, โ€œI want to get strongerโ€ย will become โ€œI want to hold a hollow body position without my belly sticking out (S) for 60 seconds (M) so I will get more stable in my core to perform an inversion more easily (R) in 8 weeks from now, which is the 10th of April (T).โ€


Breaking It Down:

  • S - Specific: Your goals should be crystal clear and leave no room for ambiguity. Think about what you want to achieve in your pole dance, aerial sport, or yoga practice.

  • M - Measurable: Make sure your goals are measurable so you can track your progress along the way. Whether itโ€™s mastering a new move, increasing your flexibility, or reaching a certain level of strength, having tangible metrics will keep you motivated.

  • A - Achievable: Set yourself up for success by setting goals that are within reach. While itโ€™s great to aim high, make sure your goals are realistic and attainable, given your current circumstances.

  • T - Time-bound: Give yourself a deadline to work towards. By setting a timeframe for your goals, you create a sense of urgency and hold yourself accountable for making progress.
